Hello my loves! I am so happy to share our updating dining room with you today. We didn’t have a plan to redecorate this room but when we were out shopping for new plates and glassware, we came across this table for the most amazing price at Home Goods (it was even marked down from the discounted price Home Goods offers!) so we couldn’t pass it up. I immediately knew what route we were going to decorate with. Alex and I share the exact same style when it comes to home decor so I’m so lucky that he appreciates rustic pieces with modern accents. It makes styling and redecorating our place so fun together! We especially can’t wait to build a home (which is hopefully happening in the next two years!).
As most of you know, we still live in a small(ish) apartment so we don’t have a ton of space. We knew we were planning on hosting a Thanksgiving for all of our friends (y’all know my man and his love for cooking!!) so he wanted to buy all new plates, silverware, place settings & glassware that we could take from our apartment to our future home. We love to host our friends whether it’s a brunch, girls night or even just our family over for dinner. He loves to cook and I love to socialize so it’s a fun situation for us both! We chose our new plates together and since we love modern pieces, I thought these square plates were perfect for us. We actually bought new glassware (not shown in the photos) for everyday drinking in the tall and short versions. I’ll include them below!
I absolutely love rose-gold but Alex is not the biggest fan. We came to a compromise on the napkin ring holders and he said it’s a small accent that he was willing to let me have (what a keeper, haha). We plan on getting another bar-cart (our current one is being used for our coffee station) and using that for a true beverage cart for when we have guests over. In the meantime, we have our new wine glasses at each place setting, which I actually love! He has a major love for wine so we also bought a carafe (didn’t even know they had a name before all of this, lol) and we just bought another one so there is one for white wines and one for reds.
Once we had our table at home, we both knew we wanted to go for a “farmhouse” feel. My mom helped us choose our metal chairs and we loooove them. They went perfectly with our centerpiece (how cute is this decorated for fall? I’m already scheming on christmas decor for it when the time comes!). If you follow along on Instagram, you know we are looking for the perfect statement chairs to add to either end of our table. We are going with a linen, tufted neutral chair that’ll add an element of texture to the room. Our EAT sign is from a few years back and I believe we picked it up at Home Goods if I’m not mistaken.
