Alex and I had the pleasure of doing a little staycation down in Columbus for his birthday which was about two months ago at Le Merididen, The Joseph in The Short North. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and very luxurious. We were so excited to spend two full nights together being away from home (which rarely happens!). It turned out to be such an amazing weekend and we had a blast!
We stayed in a one bed deluxe room with a King Sized bed which was so comfortable! I loved the wood headboard which went and extended onto the ceiling – it made the room feel larger. The bathrooms were so modern with subway tile (huge fan!) and a spacious shower. I wish I had more snaps of the bathroom but I added one from my InstaStories that y’all liked when I shared it!
We stayed on the top floor in the corner which was overlooking downtown Columbus, the view was absolutely gorgeous! I loved waking up to this skyline and the pretty sky. Luckily, there is so much to do surrounding the hotel that’s not too far of a drive and even a walk.
When we went, there was a bit of construction happening so I couldn’t get the prettiest of photos of the outside of the building but I assure you, it’s a sight! I love the all the windows and the front of the building is just as beautiful as the inside.
The lobby is full of beautiful artwork and there is a little bar “Soul” to the left of the main lobby. We had some cocktails and appetizers before heading over to his birthday dinner a little later in the evening which were amazing. I’m not kidding, I think those were the best wings that we’ve both have ever had! I started the night off with a glass of rosé and Alex tried an old-fashioned (cutest one I’ve ever seen!). Both were great!
In addition to the bar Soul that’s in the hotel, there is a restaurant connected to the hotel “Guildhouse”. We stopped there for breakfast the morning of Alex’s birthday and it was so delicious. We both ordered the Eggs Benedict which we both love and it did not disappoint.
When we came back to the hotel from a little shopping, they surprised us with some champagne which was so sweet of them. The champagne was delicious and a great way to start off the evening! We meant to have a couples massage but unfortunately the spa was booked for that specific weekend but I have heard the massages are to die for. I’ve personally never gotten a massage but I’m looking forward to going back to The Joseph for one! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone asking in the area.
With the location of the hotel being right in the Short North, there is plenty to do while planning a weekend to stay. I’ve shared my top favorite three things with you below!
1. Easton Town Center – This is always a must-do when I’m in Columbus and it’s about a 15 minute drive from the hotel. One of my favorite malls jam-packed with all the shopping you can imagine! It has home, department stores, clothing, makeup, kitchen, you name it. Alex and I spent a few hours here on his birthday just running around and enjoying the nice weather. They have a ton of restaurants, too, since shopping makes everyone hungry!
2. Short North Market – I think this is a hidden gem. From someone who is not familiar with this area too much, we stumbled upon this and were so pleased that we went inside! Alex and I love food markets and exploring foods in different cities. This market is full of different businesses and food vendors – all so awesome! The experience was so fun and there’s so many different things to try and to sample.
3. Fine Dining – We personally chose to eat at Marcella’s which was directly right across from the street from the hotel (so nice!!) since it was Italian. We have heard The Pearl and Forno are great places to try out, too. Don’t forget The Guildhouse which is attached to the hotel – they also serve dinner!
Bonus. Galleries – Although we didn’t have time to look around the galleries, I have heard they are worth the trip. With so many options to choose from – it can be easy to get lost in these galleries for the afternoon! I love that so much culture and art is packed into one district, The Short North.
Thank you, Le Meridien, The Joseph, for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

I'm always so surprised & impressed by how nice Columbus's skyline is! My mom & I ate at the Pearl last time we were in town, & it was SO good. Unfortunately, though, they're about to knock down North Market to build a high-rise apartment complex…
We want to try The Pearl next time we're in town! I've heard nothing but great things! & Oh no!!! I had not heard that…. that's awful! Makes me so sad 🙁
