Our Stay at Lake Louise Inn

Hi babes!!! I was so excited to share our Lake Louise/Banff travels with you guys on here…. what an amazing place. I’m also a little sad to be back from our weekend and the mountains but it’s good to be home to our fur babies! If you are new or missed our weekend getaway, you can see more of my photos here on my Instagram! (@fashionablykay). It was a weekend for the books, that’s for sure…. I can’t believe we are engaged!!!

We had the pleasure of staying at Lake Louise Inn which is such an adorable hotel that is located about 7 minutes driving time from Lake Louse itself. We stayed in one of their renovated/updated suites that had a full kitchen and living area inside of the room that was seriously so adorable! Everything was beautifully put together and we both agreed it was probably our favorite hotel room we’ve stayed in together. It made you feel right at home the second you walked through the door.
The entire property of Lake Louise Inn is surrounded by mountain views and everywhere you look is just like staring at a post-card. Half the time we were looking at the mountains, we would say “this can’t even be real!”. It was a first for both Alex and I to be staying in any kind of mountain so we were completely in awe the entire time. Below is a photo of the hotel lobby building and the mountain views that are right behind it, they are just stunning!
I’m planning on doing a full Banff Travel Guide on here for you guys next week so I won’t be getting into too much detail aside from our hotel stay and everything it has to offer. We flew into Calgary Airport on Friday afternoon which is about a two-hour drive to Lake Louise. There is a village that is where Lake Louise Inn is located, which is the 7-minute driving distance I mentioned above. Right across the street from Inn, there is a little shopping center that has cute stores and cafes in it. We grabbed tea and pizza bagels one afternoon when we wanted a light pick-me-up before dinner!

There are five buildings total on the hotel property and we stayed in Building 5 which was the back building on the hotel property so we had a mountain view right outside of our window. I kept staring out of the windows while relaxing and couldn’t believe how close the mountains were. Our room was super cozy thanks to their fireplace (by the way… I was in love with the fireplace!!! The colors were so pretty). We had a couch with a big-screen TV in our living space that we put to good use.

Here’s a closeup of the fireplace. I kept playing around with the colors since you could change them from blue to orange to other options but the blue and pink were my favorite. It’s the little things, lol!
In addition to having the living space… we had a full kitchen in our suite that was fully renovated and beautiful. Alex was so sad that he couldn’t cook us a full meal in there (y’all know he’s an amazing chef!) but we said next time we go back, we plan on staying a day or two longer so we will grab some stuff to make for a dinner in one of the nights. It’s a perfect place to stay with a family especially for a longer duration (week or even longer) since you do have the ability to grocery shop and stock the kitchen to lunches and/or dinners in. The kitchen came equipped with a microwave, stove, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher and basically everything else you would expect!
One of the small details that I appreciated is that when we arrived to our suite, we had towel animals in every room. I love little touches like that to welcome you in and if you know me… you know that elephants are my favorite animals so the elephant in the kitchen was my favorite! Immediately made me smile when we walked in our room Friday night.
Inside of the hotel lobby there are huge windows that look out at the mountains. They have a lounging area right next to the front desk with leather chairs and a leather couch by a fireplace. It’s super cozy and welcoming! On the other side of the hotel lobby is a breakfast area that serves Starbucks coffees and teas (which is very much appreciated by us!). We had breakfast at the Inn on Sunday morning and opted for their buffet breakfast which was delicious. It was awesome to be able to eat right on the property and then go on and explore for the day.
There are a few other dining options as well inside of their lobby for lunch and dinner. We didn’t have time this trip to try out either of those but next time we stay, we plan on it! It’s a great option to have though. They also have a pool right in the building one of the hotel. From the photos, it looks beautiful. We didn’t have a chance to try it out!
Lake Louise Inn’s Website has a photo gallery so you can see more of the property that I wasn’t able to shoot for you guys there! The photos are beautiful as is the entire hotel. I’d highly recommend staying there if you’re headed into the area for a weekend trip or even a week-long vacation. The entire property is pet-friendly as well which is always a plus! We kept spotting so many dogs our entire weekend which made us want to bring our fur babies with us. They’d love it so much!
I’ve been getting a bunch of questions on budgeting and how much the hotel would be for the suite we stayed in. It depends what time of year you go but I would say budget about $200-$400/night for the suite that we stayed in (renovated with full-kitchen, living space suite). We happened to travel on the off-season so it wasn’t nearly as crowded as traveling in July and August. Those are the busiest months for Lake Louise. We are looking forward to going back next August to visit when it’s fall weather but I’m so glad we got to see the lake and mountains in the snow. It was absolutely beautiful and a trip we will never forget!
