I’ve been getting SO many questions on my hair lately and what products I use/how I wave my hair everyday so I decided why not do a full post on it?! I know I have gotten some questions as well to do a video tutorial so until then – I’ll try to explain things as well as possible on here for you girls. I hope you had a wonderful weekend by the way – the weather was absolutely person for us in Ohio… definitely something to take advantage of while we have it! 🙂
I’m sharing my holy-grail hair products and the wand that I use every single day to achieve my natural, waves everyday. I’ve listed them with how I use them and also why I love them – to make things easiest for you! The best part is… they are ALL available at Nordstrom. I get so happy saying that because you girls know I’m a huge fan of shopping there… the customer service is amazing, best return policy in case something happens to not work out and it’s a one-stop shop for everything you need.
These are shown in no specific order but I’m sharing them in the order that I do use the products! It’s my everyday hair regimen and I do this on days that I will be using heat (specifically blowdrying and using my wand to wave my hair).
1. Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair – I use them on my hair right after I towel dry after the shower. It works as a leave-in conditioner and works miracles. Serves another two purposes as well: heat protectant and detangled to prevent further damage! I use about a dime sized bit and run it through the whole body of my hair, combing it out to even it!
2. Aveda Thickening Tonic – I use this right after using the daily hair repair and spray it throughout my hair. I have very fine hair so this works so well to thicken my hair after drying and it’s easier to style. I would definitely recommend this on fine hair!
3. Moroccan Oil Treatment – This is products is used on my hair right after blowdrying since my ends are a little rough after adding lighter balayage and using heat a lot. I add the smallest amount just to the ends and the pieces surrounding my face since those endure the most heat. It adds moisture and life back into those pieces and looks dramatically different!
4. R+Co Grid Structural Hold Setting Spray – I originally bought this thinking that I would use it only as a heat protectant spray since I saw that was also another use of this product but I find that spraying this on each layer of hair before waving – it helps keep my waves in place and from falling out. It truly is another heat protect – which I absolutely love because when you have fine hair it can be tricky adding heat so often! If I forget to use this product, I find that my waves fall out throughout the day and always always go back to this.
5. Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray – After waving each layer of my hair, I use hairspray to spray the waves into place and this is the one I’ve found works the best. I love that this is also a texturizing spray so it leaves that messy, undone look while holding them in place.
6. Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast – This product has been a total game changer for me. Like I’ve mentioned above, my hair is so thin and definitely does not have volume on its own. It never gets full or has volume – until this spray. I can’t even say enough good things about this, just that I use it every single day (even when I leave my hair naturally straight). It adds texture and volume but doesn’t weigh your hair down or add any residue. Works wonders!!
I use the T3 Micro Whirl Trio Wand and always use the biggest barrel that the set comes with. I know it’s kind of pricy BUT I’m telling you girls, it’s totally worth the price. This maybe takes me around 10-15 minutes to wave my entire head where as other wands take twice the amount of time. I love that it’s super easy to use and waves so quickly. Since my hair is so fine, I try to use it on the second to lowest setting and find that my hair stays just as well.
I start off by separating my head into three layers and wave the bottom layer first (keeping the other two up in a clip). I usually section off each side into 4 pieces that I am going to wave and take turns going away from my face and alternating to towards my face every turn. It creates more of a beachy kind of wave that doesn’t look so done – I love having messy waves.
I continue to wave each layer and still alternate ways of curling my hair. I always leave the pieces around my face going away from my face to add more volume! If you have any questions on the process (I’m sorry if I’m being confusing), just leave a comment below and I’ll do my best to answer you!
Also – how cute is this ruffle top!? I know you girls have seen me wearing it! It’s only $29 and comes in three colors total. I own the white and the peach – my best friend owns the black. We are always stealing each others clothes! These scalloped shorts are another steal at just $39 (most affordable outfit!!) and run TTS. I’m wearing the medium in the shorts and a small in this top! & because I know you girls are going to ask me about this lip color, this is “Snob” in MAC’s lipstick! I also own the “Snob” Lipgloss and usually put it over top to create a glossy finish! Love them so much for this summer!
I hope this answers a lot of your girls questions and is helpful! If you have any other questions or if I didn’t go into enough detail – just reach out to me!! I’m happy to talk to you more! Thank you as always for reading and being the best readers, ever! xox
Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring todays post! All opinions are my own.
