Atlanta Apparel Market Pt. 2

Hi loves! I’m sure you’ve seen that I was in Atlanta last week or so and I’ve been super excited to talk to you about everything that I did while I was there. First off, Atlanta was absolutely beautiful – I couldn’t get enough of the weather! It felt like full blown summer (at least to this Ohio girl). I went from snow and sleet to 80 degrees within hours and it was amazing.

I flew down to Atlanta for the Atlanta Apparel Market which is the largest apparel market on the East Coast. I was absolutely stunned by how big this place was – it’s 15 floors of (basically) heaven! The first day there, we spent the entire morning and afternoon going through showrooms and checking out all the latest fall trends. I specifically chose Power Suiting & Comeback of Animal Print as my two trends to speak on about the panel…. which we will get to shortly!
There were more than enough pieces to choose from when I was looking for my trends but I fell in love with the two piece suit that I found. I shared it below along with my other outfit that was chosen! The biggest trends coming this fall include plaids, herringbone patterns, animal prints, vintage florals, two-piece sets, monochromatic looks & layers and rainbow stripes. All of which – you girls know that I love!
So. many. floors. it was crazy! The center of it all was absolutely gorgeous – I loved every aspect of being there!
Alongside me at the market was Mary of Layers of Chic, Macy of Stuck on Style and Brittany of Loverly Grey. We all walked the showrooms together with a few of the apparel market gals and chose outfits for the panel which was Thursday morning! It was so fun seeing everyones personal style come out and what they were choosing. I was obsessing over all the looks! It was hard to limit each trend down to one outfit.

Day One Outfit:

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

The evening of the first day we had “Meet the Influencer” Happy hour and kickoff party to the market! The best part of the evening… rolled ice cream! I had never tried it before but y’all let me tell you… it’s worth trying! Probably the best ice cream I’ve ever had.
I kept it casual and comfortable for the evening and went with a simple black slip dress and lightweight cardigan. My feet were not happy with my after climbing 15 floors and walking all over the place in wedges so I wore my go-to loafers for the night and was so happy about that!

Day One Evening Outfit:

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

So I’m not going to lie… I was so nervous since this was my first panel! Our moderator was the amazing Katie Jacobs from Cheeky Peach Boutique. She made me feel so comfortable from the start! We talked about fall trends (which I mentioned above), our favorite fall pieces, accessories and even had a rapid fire session for the buyers and audience to get to know us better! When the panel was over, I couldn’t believe it because I felt like we had just started. It went way better than I had anticipated and I felt so silly for being nervous.

As I had mentioned previously, my two chosen trends were power suiting and the comeback of animal print. How amazing is this power suit!? I love that it has details that set it apart from your traditional suiting – and the ‘off shoulder’ vibe it has with the built in white blouse. I paired it with a structured mini bag – which by the way is one of my favorite fall trends! I’ve been loving the mini bags even for spring & summer.
For my second trend & look, I fell in love with this leopard jumpsuit. This also isn’t your traditional leopard print and I love how neutral this looks. I paired this with a moto jacket (y’all know that’s a must have for me) and a fun wool hat. I always top my looks off with sunglasses so of course I chose two pairs for these looks!
We had a bunch of down time after the panel in the morning until the fashion show preparty & the actual show started. Mary & I decided to Uber to Ponce City Market and we were pleasantly surprised at how cute it was! We ate and shopped around for a few hours and tried to enjoy the Atlanta weather. Both of us are from the North (she is from NYC) so it was a wonderful change of pace, lol!
I wore a simple black jumpsuit (less than $100 here) paired with a blush boyfriend fit blazer draped over my shoulder. I had so much great feedback on this bandana scarf that I tied in my hair for the evening – it’s only $10! I love adding little accessories such as this to any outfit. I always say it ‘brings it up a notch’.

Fashion Show Outfit:

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

The fashion show took place on the lower level of the Apparel Market and y’all – it turned out beautifully! I can’t believe that the girls put together this amazing show so quickly and what seemed like effortlessly. I mean, they killed it. The leaves lining the runway along with the audience was such a great touch and it was awesome seeing it front row. It was my first front row fashion show experience and I’m thankful for that!
Overall, this was an amazing trip to Atlanta and I was so sad to leave when it was over. I’m looking forward to visiting the apparel market in years to come – it’s such a great market that you don’t want to miss out if you’re in the industry!
